Beauty; You have the power.

I named my company Orenda Beauty, because I believe we are all inheretly beautiful, and that life itself is beautiful, even the “ugly” parts.

I believe Orenda is a Mindset, a muscle that can grow and be strengthened. Our Society has conditioned us into believing that there are only a few ways to look that are truly beautiful. Magazines, Models, Movies Social media filters….. Can all discourage us from feeling beautiful on our own. There has been a shift in the last few years that I have noticed, in seeing various shapes, colors, sizes of our body parts being showcased, which is encouraging.

Do you look at an Elephant and say its ugly? Or a giraffe? Or what about a horse, a beetle, a sparrow? They are all so uniquely different and so beautiful. I believe people are the same way.

orenda

noun

oren·da ōˈrendə

plural-s

: Orenda extraordinary invisible power believed by the Iroquois Indians to pervade in varying degrees all animate and inanimate natural objects as a transmissible spiritual energy capable of being exerted according to the will of its possessor. source: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/orenda

: Orenda a supernatural force believed by the Iroquois Indians to be present, in varying degrees, in all objects or persons, and to be the spiritual force by which human accomplishment is attained or accounted for. source : dictionary.com

: Orenda /ˈɔːrɛndə/ is the Iroquois name for a certain spiritual energy inherent in people and their environment. It is an "extraordinary invisible power believed by the Iroquois Native Americans to pervade in varying degrees in all animate and inanimate natural objects as a transmissible spiritual energy capable of being exerted according to the will of its possessor."[1][2] Orenda is a collective power of nature's energies through the living energy of all natural objects: animate and inanimate.[3]

Anthropologist J. N. B. Hewitt notes intrinsic similarities between the Iroquoian concept of Orenda and that of the Siouxan wakan or mahopa; the Algonquin manitowi, and the pokunt of the Shoshone. Across the Iroquois tribes, the concept was referred to variously as orenna or karenna by the Mohawk, Cayuga, and Oneida; urente by the Tuscarora, and iarenda or orenda by the Huron.

Orenda is present in nature: storms are said to possess orenda. A strong connection exists between prayers and songs and orenda. Through song, a bird, a shaman, or a rabbit puts forth orenda.[4] source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orenda

Ways to encourage and heal your Orenda:

If you aren’t already, I encourage you to start finding beauty in the smallest of ways, starting with yourself. Look in the mirror, even if its painful, and find at least 1 feature you find beautiful. If you need help with this, email me and I will happily point them out!

Wake up every day and focus on a few things that you find are beautiful- For those of us living in the Flathead Valley Montana, this is extremely easy- you just have to look out your window.

Find something beautiful in someone you have animosity towards. Mentally affirm the beauty within that person.

With a little effort, its amazing how quickly we can shift our Orenda. the power is within you.

Welcome Beautiful.

You are beautiful.

You are worthy.

You are enough.

Welcome to the All things Beauty Blog, my name is Alexandra and I am the owner of Orenda Beauty.

What do you like to do that creates a sense of beauty in your life?

What do you indulge in, that makes you feel beautiful?

Some of the indulgences that I include into my life daily are:

  1. Skincare- I am a firm believer that carving out 5 minutes (or even more!) morning and night to look in the mirror to cleanse and nourish your skin will absolutely create feelings of beauty in your life. Not only will the physical appearance of your skin look brighter and more youthful, but you self confidence will improve, even if its slightly at first, but like a snowball going down a hill, will pick up speed and fullness. Book your complimentary consultation with me and I will customize a skincare routine for you, and have it shipped directly to your door (contact me for details). Remember to Include your body too! When I wake up in the morning, after realizing i spent a few minutes doing my skincare, it already is a great start to my day.

  2. Pretty Underwear. Wear it, even if you’re the only one seeing it ;)

  3. Lighting Candles. I light candles around my home every single day. Every day is a day to celebrate, and lighting candles not only make my home smell intoxicatingly beautiful, but bring the Fire Element in which cleanses the air and brings a sense of warmth and security.

  4. Morning and Evening Prayer & Gratitude Affirmations. Once you start, it’s hard to stop. Snowball effect happens with this as well! I’m sure you can find at least 3 things that you are thankful for and think are beautiful.

I’d love to hear if you have any other practices you indulge in to promote feelings of beauty!

As a thank you for reading my first Blog post, Mention this for 10% off your next facial with me! Valid through December 31st 2022.
